History of Para Hills Knights Soccer Club
Para Hills Knights Soccer Club was founded on March 24, 1964, with the mission of promoting and fostering soccer within the local community of Para Hills West, a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. Over the years, the club has become a vital part of the local sports landscape, known for its passionate supporters and commitment to player development.
Early Years
In the club’s formative years, it competed in local amateur leagues, steadily building its reputation and developing a loyal following. The early 1970s saw the club achieve several notable successes in regional competitions, laying the groundwork for future growth.
Rise to Prominence
The late 1970s and early 1980s marked a period of significant progress for the Knights. In 1980, the club achieved a remarkable feat by finishing as runners-up in the first division. Although they fell short of the league title, they made up for it by winning the Coca-Cola Cup, their first major trophy, which cemented their status as a competitive force in South Australian soccer.
Establishment of The Paddocks
The Knights moved to their current home ground, The Paddocks (now known as Feel Good Physio Co Stadium), in 1986. The establishment of this venue provided the club with a stable and dedicated facility to host matches and develop players. Over the years, The Paddocks has become synonymous with the club’s identity and spirit.
